Fashion Show – Saturday at 2 pm
Dance
We are pleased to welcome talented dancers from across Leeds to open this year’s fashion show. It was a big hit for our inaugural show in 2024, creating a great vibe and getting both the audience and the models in the mood. So, we want to give them a shout out this year!
Fashion / Clothing / Accessories
This year’s fashion show continues the environmental sustainability theme. The team tasked designers with creating accessible and eco-friendly outfits, ready to be showcased on the catwalk. They could buy materials from any charity shop, swap them, receive them for free, or find remnants and second-hand items for sale. Reusing preloved clothes and saving fabric waste from landfill.
Visitors will get the opportunity to talk the designers after the show, as well as look at and buy their work.
There will also be a raffle with some great handmade prizes.
Supporting Leeds Hospital Charity. Jackie Peck tells us, “Helena, Jax and myself have entered as a group for Leeds Hospital Charities. We volunteer as upcyclers with the charity shop in the Merrion Centre and upcycle clothes that cannot be sold and are on their way to landfill. Along with other volunteers, we transform, embellish and update these clothes and put them back into circulation.”
Hip-Hop Dance Show – Sunday at 2 pm
“We are Bust-A-Move, a group created to bring enjoyment through movement. Bringing Original Hip-Hop styles to Leeds. Locking and B-boying! Locking is a Funk Dance, considered as one of the different street styles originated in 1969 in Los Angeles.”
In a Kirkstall Art Trail hip-hop dance first, Bust-A-Move will be performing a piece for us on the Sunday. This is a seven minute performance, so be sure to bear witness, as they, “escape the room!”
