Advent calendar windows
The Advent Trail has run in Kirkstall since 2020, with creative neighbours taking part each year. Anyone in the area can join in – no experience is needed. Houses across Kirkstall light up their windows with a new design revealed each day in December.
For those unable to visit in person, you can follow on social media. We reveal window designs each evening on the Kirkstall Advent Instagram and Facebook page.
You can also follow along with the interactive map below, which shows where each window will appear. Past years’ maps include a photo in each marker, so you can see the designs by clicking through.

Taking part
You must be a resident within the ‘village’ area of Kirkstall – this is the area close to St Stephen’s Church.
You can either be a host window or design one yourself. We welcome artists of all skills; you do not need any experience – only commitment.
If you want to design a window but do not live in the area, we will partner you with a resident who has offered to host a window.
