Community – conservation centre (split over several areas – the barn, the classroom, the roundhouse, the shelter, and the garden).

  • Hollybush is a two-minute walk from Kirkstall Bridge Shopping Park, across the Kirkstall Bridge.
  • The main entrance is via the driveway, not through the wooden gate at the front of the building – as seen from the road.
  • There are a small number of blue-badge parking spaces.
  • The driveway and car park consist of tarmac. There is a pathway through the car park painted in a different colour.
  • There is step-free and wheelchair access.
  • There is a wooden gate at the entrance.
  • The garden pathway consists of block paving and flagstones. This changes to wood chip and compacted mud towards the end of the garden.
  • Their facilities also include a bike shed; bring your own lock.

  • Both assistance dogs and pet dogs are allowed. Please keep on a lead.
  • Dog water bowls are available at the front entrance of the café.

  • Toilets are located in the café and in a separate block near the car park.
  • Separate male and female toilets.
  • Gender inclusive accessible toilets (one in the café and three in the toilet block).
  • Baby changing facilities.

  • They serve a range of drinks, cakes and lunches, including options for children.
  • Gluten free and dairy free options are available.
  • Counter service.
  • It is managed by Café 21 who are part of Sunshine and Smiles, the Leeds Down Syndrome Network. The café is run for and by people with Down Syndrome to offer training and work experience with the aim of creating job opportunities.
  • The café is next to the barn.
  • The entrance is low and under a flight of stone steps.
  • The door has a width of 90 cm and a height of 180 cm.
