Artist bio: “I am a local artist, born in Leeds, working in a range of materials over the last 20 years. I completed a BA Fine Art at Bradford College, and an MA Art & Design from Leeds Beckett University. As well as displaying at local events and venues, my work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally. This work consists of approximately one dozen plastic shoes created from clear tape hanging from a single tree. The shoes have been created by moulding clear tape around existing shoes, creating the appearance of ‘glass slippers’. Though they have been moulded from existing shoes, these plastic sculptures are impossible to wear or use. Instead they will hang from the branches of a tree, as if discarded by previous owners.”
