Artist
Name: Elizabeth Gibson
Art form: painting
Artist bio: “although painting was something I enjoyed since childhood, it wasn’t until I was furloughed during the pandemic that I took up painting again. Activity
Art form: gelli plate printing
Activity: gelli plates are resuable printing plates, that you can make prints from. First you paint the surface, then you can draw patterns and pictures onto the surface. You place paper on top and press firmly using a clean brayer (that’s the name for a printing roller). Carefully peel back the paper and ‘hey presto!’, you’ve got your print.
They have gelli plates that are vegan (made from a plant gelatine), just ask the workshop facilitators.
Suitable for children: yes, children must be accompanied by an adult.
Cost: FREE/ small donation
