Lilac can be reached on foot, by bike, or by bus.

• Walking or cycling: about 8 minutes on foot, or 3 minutes by bike.
• By bus: the 91 or 49, from Savins Mill Way or Bridge Road.

Walking or cycling

Lilac can be reached from Hollybush via the canal towpath, Wyther Lane, and Victoria Park Road. This route avoids crossing a busy road, and is about a 3-minute cycle or an 8-minute walk.

There is secure cycle parking available inside Lilac.

Directions from Hollybush via Wyther Lane

• From the Hollybush garden, take the exit onto the canal towpath, turning left.
• Walk along the towpath towards the overhead footbridge and between the two brewery residences.
• Pass under the footbridge and road bridge.
• Continue along the towpath, stopping just before the second road bridge.
• Exit via the path onto Wyther Lane.
• Use the first pedestrian crossing to reach the footpath.
• Walk across the bridge.
• Use the second pedestrian crossing and walk past the entrance to Stãll, the canalside houses.
• Turn right onto Victoria Park Avenue.
• Continue along Victoria Park Avenue until reaching Lilac Grove; the entrance will be on the right.

By bus

• It is a short hop on either the 91 or 49 bus from Savins Mill Way, or Bridge Road, opposite Kirkstall Bridge Inn pub.
• After crossing the river and travelling up Broad Lane, get off at the first stop.
• Ask the bus driver for the Kirkstall Mount stop.

Approach

There are two entrances into Lilac Grove.

Via Victoria Park Avenue (///sadly.wings.cove), shown in the main image.

• There is on-street parking.
• There is a wooden gate, 135 cm wide and 120 cm high, which will be open.
• There is an asphalt footpath around the exterior of the venue.

Via Kirkstall Mount (///part.duke.latest), shown below.

• Enter via the residents’ car park, though parking is not available for visitors.
• The car park surfaced with gravel.
• There will be signage to direct you to the venue.

Entrance into the Common House

• Step-free access is via the main entrance door, 84 cm wide, which opens inwards.
• There are patio doors to the right of the main entrance; these may also be open.
• The patio door tracks are not level with the ground.

Interior

• The venue is split across two gallery spaces.
• The floor is laminate on reinforced concrete.
• Interior doors have a width of 84 cm.

Second-floor gallery

• There are stairs to the second floor.
• There is also a lift, with a clear door width of 90 cm and interior dimensions of 100 cm by 150 cm.
• The lift is not self-service; ask a resident for assistance to use it.
• There is very little turning space on the second floor for mobility scooters.

• Both assistance dogs and pet dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead.
• Pet dogs are not permitted in the second-floor gallery.
• Lilac can provide somewhere safe to secure a dog, or arrange for someone to look after it while its owner visits the second floor.

• There is a gender-inclusive accessible toilet, located on the ground floor.
• There are no baby changing facilities at this venue.

• Tea, coffee and cake will be available.
• Please give a small donation towards the running costs of Lilac Housing Co-op.
• Water will be freely available.
