Hollywood comes to Kirkstall

It may not be the Hollywood Hills, but on a grassy knoll in Kirkstall we have our own sign. We can finally reveal the initial letters spelling out Kirkstall Art Trail – KAT. You can find them on the corner of Park Mount and Morris Lane, at St Stephen’s Church.

Designed by Jon Simmons, (Kirkstall Art Trail committee member and designer behind our flyers, posters and map), and built by Matt Hoban-Sykes.  The project was funded by a generous donation from CEG, Kirkstall Forge. This project has also given opportunities to young people from The Skill Mill, who helped with the creation of the letters.

CEG have partnered with the Leeds branch of the social enterprise The Skill Mill since February 2016, providing work and training opportunities on-site at Kirkstall Forge for young people who have been involved with the Youth Offending Service.

The KAT letters can be viewed from both sides, whatever direction you are travelling along Morris Lane.
The KAT letters are over 2 metres tall. They will be a feature of Kirkstall Art Trail in years to come.
