New look venue signs for 2026

As we announced in an earlier post about our brand refresh, we are also updating the signage you will find at all our venues this summer.

The new look

The signs will:

  • Be headed with our new logo and the words ‘Kirkstall Art Trail’ in black on a white background.
  • Have a large number in the middle of the sign on a yellow background. This is the venue number, and it is the same as the number found on the map.
  • Have a footer with our online details and a QR code on a white background.
  • The QR code is unique to the venue. When scanned, it will open the webpage for that specific venue. There, you can find the access guide and details about the artists.

Whilst the layout hasn’t altered too drastically, they will now be a larger size and printed on corrugated plastic. This makes them easier to maintain and reuse, and more importantly recycle. We have used lamination in the past, but the plastic used in this process is more brittle and prone to breaking up.

If you’re wondering what corrugated plastic is, think of estate agent signs.

The benefits of corrugated plastic:

  • 100% recyclable
  • PVC free
  • lightweight and robust
  • tear resistance
  • waterproof and UV-resistant
  • economical, reusable, and sustainable

Facts about corrugated plastic

Made from twin-walled corrugated polypropylene, it is a fully recyclable plastic product and is PVC-free. The corrugated structure is created by forming flutes between two flat plastic sheets. This design gives strength and rigidity while keeping it lightweight. The material’s design makes it resistant to water, most chemicals, and UV light. It can handle various weather conditions, from heavy rain to bright sunlight, without warping, fading, or breaking down. Because it is made as one solid plastic form, it will not delaminate, tear, and leave behind plastic fragments.
