Carrick Jones
Painting / drawing
“I have been creating contemporary, abstract oil and pastel images at my home in LS12, where I have lived for 20 years. My work, rooted in natural, free-flowing energies and rhythms, is inspired by the local organic worlds of Gott’s Park, Leeds and Liverpool Canal, and Rodley Nature Reserve. I use bold primary colours to juxtapose the natural with the vibrations of a modern Northern city.”

Joe Kiff
Acrylic Painting
“I am a researcher in Youth Justice who enjoys painting in my spare time. Having studied Fine Art at the University of Leeds, I produce work that reflects the changing planet and engages in conversation with contemporary painters.”

Leeds Stitch and Textile Group
Textiles
“The group meets monthly to learn and share skills and ideas. We enjoy a varied programme of member-led activities, workshops and visiting speakers. Whether you are a curious beginner or an experienced stitcher, we welcome anyone with an interest in textile art and craft to our meetings in Headingley.”

Michael Duckett
Drawing / collage / zines
“I am someone who draws all the time. I draw comics, sketch crowds, and make zines by layering my drawings one atop the other. And I draw outdoors and in public venues, so you might have walked past me, sat on the kerb, and chatted while I kept on drawing.”
