“I’m an artist based in Leeds, with a practice deeply rooted in life drawing and portraiture. I work primarily in charcoal—often on a large scale—capturing the human form with energy and sensitivity. My passion lies in drawing people, exploring expression, presence, and connection through mark-making. Recent exhibitions include M(OTHER) – a solo show in October 2024, The Still & Me at Mill Gallery (2025), and Ones to Watch at Sunnybank Mills (2025). In 2007, I founded Leeds Drawing Club, a drawing studio in Burley for artists and enthusiasts alike. I run life drawing and portrait workshops from here, and visit schools and universities as a guest tutor.”

Portrait Drawing taster Workshop

Leeds Drawing Club comes to Kirkstall Art Trail! Join founder Ellie Andrews for an exciting taster portrait drawing session! Working with a model, we will go through the basics of portrait drawing, and look at how other artists approach portrait making. A great introductory session for those interested in drawing people.

● The property is accessed via the shared driveway located between 76 and 78 Morris Lane.

● There is a 10 cm step down into the area with the art exhibition.
