Ali Allen
Painting
“I started my ‘adult’ years with a fine art course, then moved to theatre where I designed sets, painted scenery and made props and sculptures for all kinds of events. Most of my creative time has been given to set design, which can be viewed on my website, but I still enjoy painting and am planning to do more.”

Brendan Croker 1953-2023
Painting / collage
“Brendan was a singer, musician and artist, born in Bradford, lived in Kirkstall and in the hearts and minds of more or less everyone he ever met. I have some of his work and thought it should get to see the light of day, and that some folks might be interested to see it as well. If you would like to buy or acquire any of Brendan’s work please contact me, Ali Allen, who will be somewhere around in Victoria Terrace hub along with other artists over the weekend of the Art Trail.”

Charlie Burman
Painting
“Born in 1960, I studied at Coventry and Cheltenham. I have exhibited in group and solo shows in the UK and abroad, and previously worked as a scenic artist in theatre, film, and television. I live and work in Leeds, West Yorkshire. For me, painting is an attempt to understand my emotional response to the beauty of the natural world – the relationship between the eye, the hand, and the heart. From sketches and photographs made in the field, I work mostly in the studio, though I like to work en plein air whenever possible.”

Ian C Taylor
Sculpture / 2D construction
“I work with stone and found objects (which can include words). I find stone compulsive and often start without drawing. The first line implies the first plane and so on. Influences include Gaudier-Brzeska, Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, art history, and poetry.”

Jason Wormwell
Ceramics / sculpture
“I am a ceramic artist exploring the intersection of industrial decline and the macabre. Growing up in the North of England, as the child of mill workers, I developed an early awareness of the region’s industrial past and the lives shaped by it. This heritage continues to inform my work, where I draw on the textures, forms, and narratives of decaying industry alongside influences from grave markers and gothic carvings. I have spent the past two years developing my practice, with a particular focus on glaze experimentation and pit firing. I am interested in how these processes can evoke age, erosion, and transformation. I aim to create objects that feel unearthed rather than made—fragments of a forgotten past that invite reflection on memory, labour, and mortality.”
