Register your interest to take part in the 2025 Kirkstall Art Trail Fashion Show. Walk your work down the gorgeous Abbey at Kirkstall on Saturday 19 July. In 2024, we held our very first fashion show, and it was such a huge success that we want to bring it back bigger and better. This year, there will be an open brief to suit everyone’s needs.

The brief

• We are inviting 30 designers to take part in our upcycled-themed fashion show. 
• The budget for your work must come to £30 or less.
• You can buy materials from any charity shop, swap them, receive them for free, or find remnants and second-hand items for sale. 
• The goal is to make the outfits accessible, eco-friendly, and supporting charity. 

Accessory matching

• Do you create accessories such as hats, fascinators, jewellery, handbags, shoes, ties, etc.?
• Well, this year we want to include your work in the show.
• We will help match garment designers with accessory designers to create a full look.

Displaying your work 

• This year, we would love to display everyone’s hard work and show their outfits after the show. 
• There is a sheltered space within the Abbey, plus we will have a large gazebo, where we will have display tables. 
• This will be a great opportunity for visitors to see the work and chat to the designers. Make sure you get your business cards at the ready.

Raffle Donation

• Last year, we held a small raffle with some of the designers’ work.
• This was a fabulous way to raise money for the Art Trail, so that this amazing event can continue in 2025. 
• We would like to ask all participants if they would donate to our raffle. 
• It doesn’t have to be big. It could be a small item you have already made or something new made from the leftover fabric from the show.

Rehearsal dates

TBC – technical rehearsal (garments are not needed for this).

TBC – deadline for garments and outfits. Dress rehearsal at the Abbey.

19 July – on show day there will be one last dress rehearsal.

Deadline for applications is 30 April, 2025.

To claim costs up to £30, you will need to invoice Kirkstall Art Trail. Please include your receipts for the upcycled materials you have purchased.
