During the weekend of Kirkstall Art Trail, we will have the addition of Poetry for the first time.
First up is the Poetry Trail. Members of the public have sent their poems into Kirkstall Art Trail. Themes covered Kirkstall, West Leeds, inspiration from art, and community cohesion. Budding poets took the themes and made them their own. You will be able to find them dotted around the Trail throughout the weekend.
Next we have a FREE Creative Writing Workshop on Sunday 21 July, starting at 2pm. Professional poet Jack Collins is leading poetry workshop. You can reserve your spot, by booking tickets on Eventbrite.
Finally, to close off the weekend, we have an evening of Spoken Word and poetry. Intermixed with readings and performances from professional poets, and open mic slots. This event is open to anyyone who has an interest in writing, poetry and spoken word. Whether as a member of the audience, or even if you’d like to stand up and perform. Those who attended the earlier Workshop are welcome to take part, and read out their creations.
Doors open at 5:30pm, with our first performance at 6pm. Sunday 21 July.
You can find out more about the Workshop and the Spoken Word event by visiting Venue 2.
