Real reflections about Kirkstall Art Trail
Read what the people who make the Art Trail happen – visitors, artists, hosts, and volunteers – have to say.
“I am stoked to have been part of the event and massively appreciate the support I received as an amateur who doesn’t have money to invest yet in exhibiting. I was absolutely overwhelmed by the love my art received – from the other artists, the people who came and looked and gave feedback, and those who chose to take my art home with them. That means so much to me – it makes me feel like I have something to say that speaks to others, and that’s gold.”

“Lots of visitors to our venue made very positive comments about KAT. Several people said it was their first time walking around the trail and they were very impressed, some stating how sad they were that they had never realised it was ‘a thing’ in previous years. I also had a few people who bought items from me, later posting and tagging me (and the event) on social media, reiterating how much they had enjoyed walking the trail and meeting the artists.”
Lesley Kingsley, participating artist – Hesketh Avenue, 2026
“I would recommend any creative person who hasn’t participated in KAT before (or any event) to do so, just to experience the supportive atmosphere of the Kirkstall Art Trail.”

“If you are considering taking part – go for it. It’s a great opportunity to try something new or put yourself out there. There are loads of people to help and support; everyone is able to share their own aesthetic without judgement. It’s exactly what a community art trail should be about! Long may it continue.”
