Title: Swans on the Canal
Description: I took this photo whilst out on a lovely early morning walk to the Canal. I spotted the family of swans and cygnets nesting among the reeds, and I sat opposite watching them for a while. The father soon scared off the local heron that was roaming a little too close, then brought the cygnets out for a swim- the lighting was just perfect and it gave them all a beautiful glow!

Title: Be Weiry of Gulls
Description: A Lesser Black-Backed Gull wanders through along the weir near Kirkstall Abbey. A sea bird, out of place but still seemingly comfortable. Gulls are much maligned, but their resourcefulness allows them to continue to live alongside their human neighbours.
