Kirkstall Art Trail 2024 – What’s on
Sunday 23 June to Sunday 21 July
Where: Grassy Knoll – St Stephens Church, Morris Lane
Forget the Hollywood Hills, Kirkstall Art Trail has it’s own sign. Created by Jon Simmons and Matt Hoban-Sykes, with help from young people from The Skill Set. This project was made possible by a generous donation from CEG. The ‘K.A.T.’ Letters will be up for a month. Find out more at Venue 19.

Where: various locations
There are a variety of activities that you can join in with over the weekend. Along with traditional workshops, there are artist demonstrations, performances, and live portrait opportunities. Check the Digtial Map for locations, and the Activities Listing to find out more about what is on offer.

Where: various locations outdoors, Kirkstall
In tandem with the Art Trail, our very first Poetry Trail can be discovered in locations dotted around Kirkstall. Aspiring poets sent us their work, and we’re proudly displaying them. Let us know if you can find them all, share a post on Instagram, tag us and use #KAT2024PoetryTrail.
Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 July
Where: Vicarage Street and St Stephen’s Church
Over the summer we comissioned two artists to lead on projects bringing together neighbours on the Vicarages, and on the Glebes. Working with the community they responded to and created art work for the Trail. You can see the resulting work at Venue 20 and Venue 26.

Where: Chunk, Bakery & Coffee Shop, 406 Burley Road
The winners of the Kirkstall Art Trail photography competition, ‘Capturing Kirkstall’. Featuring the overall winner, and winners from each category – ‘Wildlife and Pets’, ‘Buildings and Places’, and ‘Nature and Environment’. Find out more on the Venue 39 page.

Where: Burley Rugby Club, Abbey Road
We’re pleased to offer a Creative Writing workshop led by performing poet, Jack Collins. Participants will be invited to take part in the Spoken Word open mic on the Sunday evening event, reading their creations from this session. Find out more at Venue 2.

Where: Kirkstall Abbey Nave
Join us for our first ever Fashion Show. Designers were invited to create brand new outfits from clothes chosen from the Cancer Research Superstore in Kirkstall. Now watch them parade them down the catwalk, in the fantastic surrounds of the Abbey Nave. Find out more at Venue 3C.

Closing Kirkstall Art Trail is our very first Spoken Word event. Featuring performances from professional poets and performers Cherie Taylor Battise, and Jack Collins. Plus, there will be the opportunity for visitors to join in with open mic slots. Find out more about the event at Venue 2.
